Introduction 01/09/2007

Dear WWNK readers,

Every day we are hearing more breathless news from the Climate Change front: from a giant, 25-square-mile ice island breaking off the Arctic shelf, to severe flooding in the west of Ireland. Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" brought Paramount $24 million at the box office, and not a day goes by without another NASA scientist or climatologist warning us that the sky will fall sooner than we thought.

Thus, we figured it is time to revisit the issue--and dedicate a whole edition of What We Now Know to the matter. Veteran editor Doug Hornig has been digging deep into the scientific material available--with rather surprising results.

Enjoy your read!
