Good day... And a Terrific Tuesday to you! Well, it looks like the hurricane in the Gulf will veer left, and avoid the 'spill area'... So, those guys working in the Gulf finally catch a break! The bias to sell dollars didn't last too long yesterday, about as long as it takes for an Albert Pujols home run to leave the park! This back and forth stuff is really beginning to give me a rash, folks...

Yesterday, the selling of the currencies and metals began with Gold... The shiny metal had climbed to just above $1,260, but could not go further, and apparently, traders threw in the towel because Gold couldn't go past its all-time high of $1,266... Gold began to sell off and in the blink of an eye, it went from being up $8, to being down $14! OUCH!...

Good day... And a Marvelous Monday to you! The last week of May! Can you believe that? This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, and Summer is here! (I know, not officially, but to me, Memorial Day marks the beginning of Summer, and always has!) Summer heat arrived here this weekend... Man, did that hot sun feel good! It was 60 for a high on Thursday, and 90 yesterday... If you don't mind change, then you'll love St. Louis weather!

Well, the heat returned to the euro overnight... After enjoying a couple of days in the sun, rising from the ashes due to a short squeeze last week, it appears to me as though that sun bathing for the euro is over... Yes, it looks like the selling will return this week, I mean I may only have one eye, but I can see a reversal when there is one! The euro began the overnight sessions climbing to 1.2587, and then turned on a dime! The single unit is now grading below 1.24... Do you see the reversal?...

Good day... And a Marvelous Monday to you! It was a wet, and sometimes dangerous weather wise weekend here in St. Louis, as a couple of tornados touched down on Saturday. It's still raining outside, and even though the euro got to get out of the rain for a bit on Friday, it's raining on the euro's parade once again this morning.

Yes... As I left you on Friday, Greece had announced the activation of an aid package, and momentarily, things looked up for the beleaguered Eurozone. The euro continued to gain throughout the day on Friday, and well, looked like it was about to 'break out'... But that was Friday, and today is Monday... And all the euphoria surrounding Greece on Friday has been thrown out with the bathwater, and it's back to euro bashing this morning......

Good day, we had another strong day for the dollar yesterday, with the greenback gaining against all of the majors. But overnight, the Asians and then the Europeans sold the dollar and moved money back into the currencies. So after another rollercoaster ride, we are basically right back where we were at this time yesterday morning. These volatile markets are likely to continue, as investors try to figure out if the global economy will recover or if we will slide back into recession. With all of this uncertainty, you would think investors would be moving into 'hard assets': Gold and Silver. But the markets for these two precious metals have been surprisingly quiet this year. More on the metals a bit later, first I will try to figure out these currency markets....

Good day, and welcome to another week. The alarm clock seemed to go off an hour early this morning, as my body hasn't yet adjusted to daylight savings. I have heard several reasons for the semi annual adjustment of our clocks, but still don't buy into it. I think everyone should just agree to leave the clocks alone and I for one vote to leave them where they are right now, giving us an extra bit of sunlight in the evenings. We didn't see much sun here in St. Louis this weekend, as a soft spring rain has been coming down for the past 3 days....

Good day... A Wonderful Wednesday to you! I hope your Tuesday was Terrific! Day one with just my little buddy Alex and me at home went off without a hitch... I took him to the jazz guitar teacher, and he sounded great! He auditions for the high school jazz band on Thursday. He'll be just a freshman, so it will be quite the uphill battle for him to make the band in his first try... But... He's so darn good!

Well... I have to say front and center this morning, that while it may have taken the currency traders 1/2 day to realize that Australia had raised rates, to finally begin to push the A$ higher VS the green/peachback... I was beginning to think yesterday that I was going to have to have egg all over my face again, when the A$ didn't respond right away... But it was all right on the night, so it's no egg on the face for me!...
